Omen Sisters is an idle RPG in pixel art. The Wayfinders’ Guild has hired three omen readers to find out what lies beneath the lead-sealed barrows of Duskwood. Agna holds the front with her shield, Liss strikes from the middle with her knife, and Hollis keeps the lantern lit at the back. They fight on their own, depth after depth, and keep going while you are away.

How to play
Spend the coins the sisters earn to train them. Each sister is strongest in her own place in the formation, but the day’s sign can make a different line-up better. When a gift is charged, tap it: Agna can make the sisters take half damage, Liss can strike for many times her damage, and Hollis can burn the foe and heal the others.
Every tenth depth a barrow boss waits with a 30 second timer. If it holds, the sisters fall back to gather strength. Train them and challenge the boss again, or turn on Auto to let them try by themselves.

The four signs
The omen readers watch four signs, and the sky turns once a day, the same for every player. Under the Moon foes have more life but carry more coins. Under the Sun every blade burns brighter, most of all in the middle. Under the Storm gifts charge twice as fast. Under Blood the barrow guards walk, and elite foes carry grave finds.
The sky of the week
Besides the daily sign, one of the six skies hangs over Duskwood for a whole week, the same for every player. Harvest Moon brings more coins, Winter Storm tougher foes but faster gifts, Red Plague harder blows but stronger healing, Storm Tides more grave finds and Blood Moon elite foes under every sign. When the Dragon Wakes, a dragon crosses the barrow now and then. Tap it before it is gone and it leaves old gold behind.
The Root Halls
Below the Wight Chieftain at depth 30 the lead stops and the roots begin. The oldest trees of Duskwood have pushed down into the barrows, and fen spiders, lantern wisps and hollow stags live among them. Three new bosses wait there: the Coven Crone, the Thorn Matriarch and the Heartroot.

The Daily Grave
Once a day the Wayfinders’ Guild marks one grave, the same for every player. Enter it from the waystation: five foes and a boss from around your best depth, a time limit, and one special rule, such as Brittle Lead, where foes have half their life but strike twice as hard, or No Light, where Hollis cannot heal but every gift charges twice as fast. Clear it for coins, scrap and a grave find. Your normal descent waits for you while you are down there.
Gear, finds and lead seals
Foes drop iron, silver and gilded gear. Better gear is equipped at once, and the rest melts into scrap that makes your gear stronger. Bosses and some foes carry grave finds, which Hollis reads at the Guild’s waystation for coins, scrap or gear.
From depth 20 you can reseal the barrow: the sisters climb out, depth and training start over, and you earn lead seals for lasting bonuses such as more damage, more coins, a deeper start or gifts that fire by themselves. Gear and sagas are kept.
Familiars and the Guild’s contract
Sometimes a grave find is not a thing but a creature, and it follows Hollis home. Corrie the raven brings more coins, Soot the cat sharpens Liss’s eye, Wick the owl speeds up the gifts, Pudding the toad strengthens Hollis’s healing and Rusk the fox sniffs out more grave finds. One familiar walks with the sisters at a time.
Reach the bottom of the Root Halls at depth 60 and the Guild offers a new contract. Everything starts over, lead seals included, but every Guild mark you earn adds 10% damage, coins and seals for good.
Clear the Daily Grave and your grave depth goes onto today’s list, so you can see who went deepest.
Tips
- Look at the sky first. Moving the right sister to the favoured place can make a stuck boss fall.
- Reaching level 25, 50 and so on doubles a sister’s damage.
- Read grave finds whenever the waystation is free.
- On a computer, keys 1, 2 and 3 use the sisters’ gifts.
- Your first reseal comes fast. Spend the seals on Sharper Lead and Bone Purse before anything else.
FAQ
Is Omen Sisters free?
Yes. It is completely free to play in your browser. Some rewards can be doubled by watching a short ad, but you never have to.
Does the game play itself?
Mostly. The sisters fight on their own, and while you are away they keep earning coins for up to 8 hours. You decide how to train them, where they stand and when to use their gifts.
What are the sky signs?
Every day the sky turns to Moon, Sun, Storm or Blood. Each sign changes the rules a little and favours a different place in the formation, so the best line-up changes from day to day.
What is the sky of the week?
Besides the daily sign, one of the six skies of Wyrdmere hangs over Duskwood all week: Harvest Moon, Winter Storm, Red Plague, Storm Tides, Blood Moon or The Dragon Wakes. Each one changes the rules a little. Tap the sky panel to read it.
Why did my sisters fall back?
A boss waits on every tenth depth with a 30 second timer. If it holds, the sisters fall back one depth to gather strength. Train them and press Challenge the boss, or turn on Auto.
What does resealing the barrow do?
From depth 20 you can climb out and seal the barrow behind you. Depth, coins and training start over, but you keep your gear and earn lead seals for lasting bonuses.
What does renewing the contract do?
From depth 60 you can renew the contract with the Guild. Everything starts over, including lead seals, but you earn Guild marks that give more damage, coins and seals for good. Gear, familiars and sagas are kept.
What are familiars?
Sometimes a grave find turns out to be a creature that follows Hollis home: a raven, a cat, an owl, a toad or a fox. One familiar walks with the sisters at a time and gives a small bonus. Finding the same one again makes it stronger.
What are grave finds?
Bosses and some foes carry finds. Hollis reads them at the waystation for coins, scrap, gear or sometimes a familiar.
What is the Daily Grave?
Once you have broken the first boss, the Guild marks one grave a day at the waystation. It has five foes and a boss from around your best depth, a time limit and a special rule that is the same for every player. Clear it for coins, scrap and a grave find, and your grave depth goes onto today's list.
What lies below depth 30?
The Root Halls, where the roots of Duskwood's oldest trees break through the barrows, with new foes and three new bosses.
Is my progress saved?
Yes, automatically in your browser.
What is the chronicle?
The game has ten sagas about the barrows and the Root Halls beneath them. You unseal them by beating bosses and other deeds, and they are also collected in the Chronicle of Wyrdmere on SagaArcade.
