Is Isles of Vael free?
Yes. It is completely free to play in your browser.
How do conversations work?
Like the old Ultima games: you ask people about words. Everyone answers name, job and bye, and new words appear in bold when someone mentions them. Those words become buttons, and on a computer you can type your own.
I am stuck. What now?
Look at Next step beside the map, look for people marked with an exclamation mark, or ask Maren about her plan.
Why is nobody answering?
It may be night. People keep daily routines and sleep at night. Borrow the spare bed at the Drowned Lantern to sleep until morning.
How does combat work?
Turn by turn, like Ultima. Walk into an enemy to attack, press Space to wait, or walk away to escape. Better weapons and armour from the town make a big difference.
Is my game saved?
Yes, automatically. It is saved in your browser, and in the cloud if you sign in on SagaArcade.
Is there more to come?
Yes. Chapter 1 ends with a hook: eleven more singers burn in the lights of other isles. Chapter 2 is in the works.
