About the game

Become the hunter the sagas remember. Realm Hunt is a free, turn-based monster-hunting RPG where every fight is a puzzle you can read: each beast shows its next move, and you decide whether to dodge, block, strike its weak spot or break off a horn, wing or tail.

Take a contract, prepare with the right oil and brew, bring the beast down and carve rare materials from the parts you broke. Then forge stronger gear and take on the next, harder contract. Your hunter is saved online, so you can keep playing on any device.

How to play

  1. Take a contract. The contract board shows how dangerous each hunt is for your hunter: Easy, Even fight, Dangerous or Deadly.
  2. Prepare. The briefing lists the beast’s breakable parts and known moves. The right oil gives extra damage against a beast family; brews give resistances and other advantages.
  3. Read the beast. Choose a light or heavy attack, dodge, block, a healing potion or a sign (magic), and pick the part to aim at. Stamina, balance and stagger decide the tempo.
  4. Carve the kill. Broken parts become rare materials. The result screen shows your score, gold, runes and what you can do next.
  5. Grow stronger. Spend runes on new levels at the Altar and forge gear in the Forge. If you die, you lose the runes you carried.

Four realms

Four realms open as your hunter rank grows. Each has its own law, its own beasts and a boss that ends a chapter of the main story. Every realm is a nod to one of the great games we write about across NetworkSaga.

All names, monsters, realms, lore and art in Realm Hunt are its own. The main story has four chapters with choices that change the boss fights and the ending, and the tavern The Antler & Ember at the Crossroads is full of people with side quests.

The Forge and progression

  • Forging: the Forge shows what is ready to forge and which beast and part give the missing materials.
  • Weapon trees: swords, axes, twin blades and staves evolve in four steps and keep their upgrades.
  • Armor sets: four sets with bonuses at 2 and 4 pieces, each with an edge against its own hardened boss.
  • Four classes: three melee classes and the Runemage, who fights with signs.

Endgame

When the story is done, the hunt goes on: hardened bosses with new attacks, daily contracts with a streak bonus, a Hunt of the Week with bronze, silver and gold and its own leaderboard, and 59 trophies with titles, sigils and frames to show off on your hunter card.

Tips for new hunters

  • Always look at the beast’s next move first. Some moves cannot be dodged, others cannot be blocked.
  • Dodging costs stamina — keep enough for the big hits.
  • Aim at breakable parts: they weaken the beast and pay out the materials you need for gear.
  • Use the oil for the beast’s family — in the Mistmarsh it is worth even more.
  • Create an account with e-mail if you want to keep your hunter on more than one device.

FAQ

Is Realm Hunt free?

Yes. Realm Hunt is free to play in your browser and there is no pay-to-win: cosmetics never change combat stats.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. The game adapts to phones, tablets and computers. On a phone it opens in full view; tap the × in the corner to close it.
