About the game
The night is falling and the beasts are coming. Wretches, wisps, hounds and charging boars pour out of the dark from every side. Your weapons strike on their own — all you have to do is move, survive and choose how your hunter grows.
Every kill drops experience. Level up and pick one of three upgrades: new weapons, stronger versions of the ones you have, or companion upgrades like Whetstone and Quickdraw. Push a weapon to its limit with the right companion and it evolves into something far deadlier. And every three minutes a great beast rises from the mire.

How to play
- Move. Use WASD or the arrow keys — or drag anywhere on a touch screen. Your weapons attack automatically.
- Collect experience. Walk over the glowing gems the beasts drop to level up.
- Choose an upgrade. Pick one of three cards (or press 1, 2 or 3). Rerolls let you draw new cards.
- Break the beasts. Bosses have glowing parts. Break them off to weaken the beast and earn rare materials.
- Forge your legend. Between hunts, spend crowns and monster parts in the Forge to grow stronger.
Weapons and evolutions
You start with Silver Blade, Rune Bolt or Frost Shards and can unlock two more weapons in the Forge. Raise a weapon to level 5 while you own its companion upgrade, and an Evolution card can appear:
| Weapon | Companion | Evolution |
|---|---|---|
| Silver Blade | Whetstone | Moonsilver Reaper — a full silver circle every half second; each hit heals you a little. |
| Rune Bolt | Quickdraw | Storm of Runes — six runes that pierce three beasts and explode on impact. |
| Frost Shards | Wide Grip | Winter’s Crown — eight great shards in a wide orbit that freeze beasts slow. |
| Hunter Axes | Light Boots | The Wild Hunt — six huge axes tear out and back, again and again. |
| Ember Sign | Troll Blood | Heart of Embers — a blazing ring that heals you while it burns. |

The great beasts
Three great beasts rise during the night. Each has glowing parts you can break off — some sit on the beast’s back, so circle around it. Every broken part weakens the beast and drops a rare material for the Forge.
| Beast | Rises at | Breakable parts |
|---|---|---|
| The Mossfather | 3:00 | Antlers (weaker charge), Rune-Heart on its back (takes +30% damage) |
| Thunderback | 6:00 | Horns (weaker charge), left and right wing (slower) |
| Rimewing | 9:00 | Left and right wing (slower), tail on its back (takes +30% damage) |
Slay all three and dawn breaks: the night is won and the next, harder night opens. There are ten nights in all, from The First Night to Eclipse — each one tougher, and each one paying more crowns.

Trophies
Monster parts are forged into trophies. You can wear two at a time, and each can be raised to rank 3.
| Trophy | Effect (rank 1) |
|---|---|
| Tusk Charm | +25 max health; all damage you take is reduced by 15%. |
| Antler Crown | Every 6 seconds a ring of antlers bursts from you for 60 damage. |
| Rune-Heart Amulet | Once per hunt, cheat death and rise with 50% of your health. |
| Storm Wing Cloak | +12% movement speed and a 12% chance to dodge any hit. |
| Hunter’s Eye | +25% experience; monster parts take +25% damage. |
Tips for a longer hunt
- Keep moving in wide circles — standing still is how hunters fall.
- Plan one evolution per hunt: take the weapon and its companion early, then push the weapon to level 5.
- Take Beast Oil before the 3:00 boss — it adds damage to bosses and even more to their parts.
- Spend your first crowns on Hide Armor and Whetted Steel in the Forge, then save Alpha Tusks for the Tusk Charm.
- Play the Daily Hunt every day — the first hunt pays bonus crowns and a monster part.
FAQ
Is Hunter's Night free?
Yes. The game is completely free to play in your browser. An optional short ad lets you revive once per hunt, and an occasional ad may play between hunts — you never have to watch one to keep playing.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Drag anywhere on the screen to move; your weapons attack on their own. On a phone the game opens in full view — tap the × in the corner to close it.
Is my progress saved?
Your crowns, monster parts, Forge upgrades, trophies and unlocked nights are saved automatically in your browser. Clearing your browser data or using private mode resets them.
How do weapons evolve?
Raise a weapon to level 5 and own its companion upgrade, then an Evolution card can appear when you level up. For example, Frost Shards plus Wide Grip becomes Winter's Crown.
How do I win a night?
Survive until all three great beasts have risen and slay them: the Mossfather at 3:00, Thunderback at 6:00 and Rimewing at 9:00. Beating a night opens the next, harder one.
What is the Daily Hunt?
A new hunt every day with its own rule and starting weapon, and no trophies, so everyone plays on equal terms. Your first daily hunt pays bonus crowns and a monster part, and three daily missions give extra rewards.
