About the game
High on the mountain lives a cheerful snow troll with one favourite pastime: kicking snowballs as far as they will go. Time the kick, watch the ball tear down the slope, and tap to bounce it over rocks, ramps and cracks in the ice. The further it rolls, the bigger it grows — and a big snowball smashes straight through trees.
Every run earns coins for upgrades, every mission earns a star, and every new region brings a new challenge and a new snowball or troll hat to unlock. A ghost of your best run rolls beside you, so you always know if you are ahead.
How to play
- Kick. Tap (or press Space) to stop the power meter. The green PERFECT zone gives a stronger kick.
- Bounce. Tap while the snowball rolls to make it jump. You only have a few bounces per run, so save them for when you slow down or get stuck.
- Grow and smash. The snowball grows as it rolls. Big and fast, it smashes trees and rocks for coins; too small, and it bonks and loses speed.
- Upgrade. Spend coins on a stronger kick, more bounces, stickier snow and slicker wax — then kick again.
Six regions
A gate marks the start of each new region. Every region changes the slope in its own way — and reaching one for the first time pays a bonus.

Missions, ranks and styles
You always have three missions, like Smash 10 obstacles in one run or Stay airborne 2 seconds in one jump. Each completed mission gives coins and a star. Every three stars raise your rank — from Snow Pup all the way to Avalanche King — and some ranks unlock new styles.
Open STYLE on the start screen to dress up your troll and pick a snowball. There are 8 snowballs and 8 hats, from the Bobble Hat to the Golden snowball. Styles are just for looks — they never change how the game plays.
Tips for a longer roll
- Start with Mighty Kick and Slick Wax. The result screen tells you which upgrade gives the most metres right now.
- Do not waste bounces early. A bounce when the snowball is almost stopped is worth the most.
- Ramps with a red flag launch you far. Bouncing just before the lip sends you even higher.
- Snowflakes in the air give an extra bounce. Grab them whenever you can.
- Play the Daily Mountain: the same slope and wind for everyone, all day long.
FAQ
Is Avalanche Kick free?
Yes. The game is completely free to play in your browser. An optional short ad can double the coins from a run, but you never have to watch one.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Everything is played with a single tap, so it works just as well on phones and tablets as with a mouse or keyboard.
Is my progress saved?
Your coins, upgrades, missions, styles and best run are saved automatically in your browser. Clearing your browser data or using private mode resets them.
How do I get past the crevasses?
Blue Glacier has deep cracks in the ice. A big enough snowball rolls straight over them, so upgrade Sticky Snow. If you fall in, tap to bounce out — it costs one bounce.
What is the Daily Mountain?
A new mountain every day with its own wind. Everyone gets the same slope, so you can compare distances with friends. Your best run of the day races you as a ghost.
How do I unlock new snowballs and hats?
Reach new regions and climb the ranks by completing missions. Open STYLE on the start screen to see what each item needs.
